Usability Testing

Usability Testing

Loving Usertesting for usability testing with real Safeway/ Albertons shoppers. I’ve been using it for over two years now. I create jpg prototypes and quickly test my assumptions before going into development. Their fast web tools allow me to keep up with our 2-week sprints. Also, I test beta builds and do health checks on existing production apps. Love it. Usability Test Highlights: Testing “just for U” prototype before release Testing a new nav drawer idea on the iPad before...

SFSU Mobile UX Design Course

Just finished up a a great mobile UI/UX course at San Francisco State University. Great teacher Tony Santos and great students. Lots of variety – some more new to UX, some very experienced, but we all jumped in and got some great info and feedback. I would highly recommend Tony for any classes and the SFSU campus at the Westfield Center was a nice facility. Here’s a great video we watched with Mike Monteiro from Mule Design about how designers need to sell their work or die. Great...

OK Google – STOP PLAYING@#!!

OK Google – STOP PLAYING@#!!

“OK Google” will play an artist or a track if I tell it while driving. But it won’t STOP playing!  I’m in my car screaming “stop music,” “stop playing,” “stop,” “pause,” “shut-up!!” and nothing. It turns down, listens to my rant, then turns back up. Also it won’t skip to next track. Odd. Looks like it’s coming in Lollipop, the next version of Android. Weird that seems like that would have been simple. Google current voice...

Faron Young Vocals

Faron Young’s “You Don’t Know Me” My friend and I just finished up a project for a record company that is repairing the recordings, adding background vocals, and adding instrumentation and publishing never-before-released tracks of country music artists. This one is Faron Young’s “You Don’t Know Me” recorded in the late 50s/early 60s. The Faron CD should be out this summer with this track and 13 other previously unreleased tracks in which I arranged the background vocals and my wife Jillian and...
